What Is a Botox Filler Injection?

Botox filler injection is a procedure that reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face. The injection is performed by injecting a small amount of filler under the skin. The provider will clean the area where the injection is to be performed and may apply a topical anesthetic to make it more comfortable. Most fillers contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, which helps reduce any discomfort associated with the procedure.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers can be a great alternative to Botox injection, and are generally safe. They are formulated with hyaluronic acid, which attracts moisture and softens wrinkles. Typically used in the nasolabial folds, dermal fillers can also help contour cheekbones and lips.

Dermal fillers are biocompatible, biodegradable substances that can be safely injected into the skin. The FDA has approved a variety of dermal fillers, including Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which helps the skin rebuild natural collagen. These dermal fillers are long-lasting and can last up to two years.

Botox

During the last couple decades, injectables such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin have become hugely popular. They are made of a type of toxin that blocks nerve impulses in the body. They are often used in the face to erase creases and wrinkles and improve the appearance of the skin.

The effects of Botox injections last three to six months, depending on the individual. Some people may experience bruising or swelling at the injection site, but these are not harmful. Juvederm

A Juvederm botox filler treatment can be done to correct your facial hollowness and restore a smoother, more youthful appearance. This treatment requires very little recovery time, but you should avoid strenuous activity for a few days after the procedure. Following the treatment, you may experience swelling or bruising at the injection site, which will fade within two to three days. After the treatment, you can apply a warm compress to minimize any pain. You should also apply arnica gel to the area to help with any bruising.

Before your treatment, your provider will clean the area and apply a topical anesthetic. This don’t do these after Botox  will numb the area for a few minutes. Most fillers contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, which will help reduce any discomfort during the treatment. Your provider will then inject the correct amount of filler beneath your skin.

Restylane

Restylane is a brand name for injectable hyaluronic acid, a type of hyaluronic acid that does not come from animals. It can improve the appearance of wrinkles, folds, and creases. It’s easy to apply and lasts up to six months.

A Restylane procedure typically starts with an initial consultation with a dermatologist. The doctor will review your medical history and current medications. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should delay your injection. Any other skin conditions that affect the appearance of your skin should be treated before your procedure.

Perlane

Botox filler injection with Perlane is a cosmetic procedure performed by a dermatologist. It is safe and effective and takes about 30 minutes. Patients are given topical anesthetics to minimize discomfort. Results are visible immediately and may last up to six to eight months, depending on the individual. In most cases, patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure.

The effects of Perlane injections usually last up to eight to ten months. This time period varies depending on the area of the face treated and the body’s natural absorption of hyaluronic acid. In addition, you may need a maintenance treatment every one to two years.
